About the Project

SOCIAL – Social Cooperation for Integrated Assisted Living – is a project that stems from the vision and initiative of a consortium of IT companies, led by Kentra Technologies, with the participation of Digital Wind and Micro I/O, also integrating the scientific and technological know-how of Instituto Pedro Nunes and University of Aveiro.

With financial support of COMPETE 2020, within the project are research and development of innovative information technologies and services to support society-centered care networks, in close proximity to elderly citizens, 65 years of age and above.

Objectives

To contribute to the ambitious goal of integration and continuity of care, by making available technology based services that enable communication and information sharing, which are essential for the cooperation among caregivers in close proximity to the citizen (namely, networks constituted by formal social care providers and informal caregivers).

TRANSVERSALITY AND CONTINUITY

The vision that guides SOCIAL is that it is possible to build an infrastructure that establishes a bridge between the health and social domains, supporting care records of individual citizens, over their entire lifecycles, enabling secure data sharing and information extraction, valuable for citizens, organizations and the community.

DIGITAL SERVICES

Applications are the visible side of the Information Services and the vehicle that delivers information to the different kinds of users:

  • independent and autonomous citizens, that aim to maintain a healthy life style
  • informal caregivers who wish to define a care plan and share it with other caregivers
  • organizations that have the mission of strategically managing community care within a region
  • profit or non-profit social care providers, in their interaction with the care ecosystem

ANALYTICAL DATA PROCESSING

The implementation of a comprehensive health and social data repository will leverage the extraction of anonymous data for secondary usage.

Analytical processing of those data will produce relevant information about care effectiveness, regarding the outcomes achieved in improving the health condition and life quality of citizens.

Develop a DIGITAL SERVICES PLATFORM

  • fill the gaps in information and collaboration needs of these care networks
  • deliver structural efficient mechanisms for "Electronic Social Records" (security, interoperability, archetypes, data analytics)
  • promote the development of an applications' ecosystem
